Hazardous Waste/Material (HW/M) Disposal Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The Hazardous Waste/Material (HW/M) Disposal Manager shall coordinate procedures, storage locations, etc., with Government Environmental, Port of Singapore Authority (PSA) or other Government of Singapore (GOS) agencies as applicable. The Contractor shall comply with all guidance, directives, manuals, regulations, and laws applicable to this annex, whichever is more stringent.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Hazardous Waste/Material (HW/M) Disposal Manager shall provide all environmental services and be responsible for compliance of all Government and Contractor operations and facilities with all environmental programs included in the Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance Document (OEBGD), including but not limited to management and operations for hazardous waste and hazardous materials collection, identification, transportation, packaging, storage, recycling, and disposal functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
The Hazardous Waste/ Material (HW/M) Disposal Manager:
- Shall have a bachelor’s degree in science, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, or Environmental Engineering.
- Shall have completed a formal 40-hour training course in hazardous waste management.
- Shall have completed first aid training including cardiopulmonary respiratory (CPR) resuscitation certification.
- Shall have intimate knowledge of local and U.S. hazardous waste regulations and hazardous substances transportation requirements and have certification of Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) training and forklift operations.
- Shall have a minimum of two years of experience as the Hazardous Waste Coordinator for a Medium Quantity Generator as defined by 40 CFR, or as approved by Government Environmental.
- Shall serve as the emergency coordinator in the event of a spill or accident.
- Must have an excellent communication skill to convey information verbally and in reports, meetings and presentations.
- Must have the ability to actively engage with the SBOSC Project Manager and US Government.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License (US or International)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform all other duties assigned by Project Manager.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The US Government's regular working hours are from 0800-1630, five days per week, Monday through Friday, except observed US Federal and Singapore holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday.
