Deputy Program Manager - Background Investigations

Constellis Herndon, VA (Onsite) Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY

 

Oversee day to day operations of the program as required by the Program Manager.  Duties include contract management and regular client interaction.  Fully remote or partially remote will be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn and assume responsibility for day-to-day contract operations for areas including contract budgeting, hiring & training personnel, timesheets, and Customer invoices
  • Establish and maintain customer relationships to ensure level of communications are constantly open as well as daily knowledge and understanding of customer mission and support
  • Respond to inquiries and case issues from field investigators and case review team
  • Provide data for weekly and monthly reports and compile monthly statistics on noteworthy events
  • Attend all recruiting meetings and coordinate with HR for processing of new team members
  • Provide counseling and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Maintain regular communications with team members to insure consistency
  • Provide customer and management updates on a regular basis to Program Manager
  • Timesheet approval to include leave management
  • Oversee management of Post-Field Team, Call Center, and Investigative Training Coordinator (ITC)
  • Interpret Customer requirements as well as Federal Investigation Standards
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Program Manager in his/her absence

  • Prepare performance evaluations for team leads, Call Center, and ITC .
  • Attend twice-yearly on-site Customer Inspection at Herndon HQ

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum three (3) years program management experience dealing with Federal Government contracts
  • Minimum five (5) years total program management experience
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions in a quick and decisive manner using good judgment.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of background investigation process and personnel security management
  • High oral communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the employer’s and/or customer’s organization
  • REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE: This job will require a S. Government TS/SCI clearance and polygraph.  Applicants applying should currently hold, at a minimum, an active Secret clearance based on a Tier 5 SSBI.
  • REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree from four-year College or University
  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Experience in background investigations and knowledge of the Federal Investigative Standards (FIS)

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are typically  Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.
